The Therapy Space

Therapy can begin without having the right words, a clear goal, or a plan. There is no expectation to arrive knowing exactly what you want to say or where things should go.

Within the session, the only agenda in the room is yours. You set the pace and direction, and I work alongside you with care and attention.

Often, this allows thoughts, emotions, or bodily responses that have been set aside to surface. There is no expectation to be clear or complete — we can begin with whatever feels most present and take time to understand it.

My approach is rooted in a humanistic perspective, valuing understanding, authenticity, and the relationship formed in the room. Where it feels helpful, I may draw on other ways of working to support this.

Sometimes words are enough; at other times, different ways of exploring can feel more natural. This might include writing, imagery, or gentle ways of exploring thoughts and feelings beyond talking.

At times, I may reflect something back or offer another perspective, helping you to see things in a different way. This is always done with care and with your wellbeing in mind.
